On the first night in Brighton, party-loving Pete and Jason's home-made-from-scratch Italian menu impresses Debbie but not her partner Richard, although they both enjoy a rare night out together. Meanwhile, Chris and Barb, who've been married for almost 30 years, enjoy the night but don't rate Pete and Jason as any kind of rivals to their well-honed party throwing skills. Novice hosts and accomplished bickerers Debbie and Richard are up next, but tension in the kitchen spills over to the table, leading to some cold food and awkward chat. Finally, Chris and Barb rely on their years of hosting experience and their teamwork skills to deliver a tried and tested menu, and throw in a little something extra. Synopsis
